Voyage en Alsace / Travel in Alsace

Nous avons visité le centre de la ville et la cathédrale gothique.
Colmar, la « capitale des vins d'Alsace », se situe à environ trente minutes en train au sud de Strasbourg. Son patrimoine architectural est magnifique. Déambuler dans les rues de la cité est un réel plaisir.
Riquewihr, à vingt minutes de Colmar au nord-ouest, est un des plus beaux villages de France. Les bâtiments sont magnifiques et vous transporte dans le temps jusqu'au XVIe siècle !
Comme le village est en plein cœur du vignoble alsacien, on peut y trouver de nombreux producteurs de vins. Les offres de dégustations sont nombreuses et raviront les amoureux du vin. Ma femme et moi avons pu goûter un excellent Riesling grand cru schoenenbourg et un très bon Pinot gris.

In late August, my family and I spent a few days in Alsace.
We visited Strasbourg, Colmar and the pretty village of Riquewihr.
Strasbourg is the capital of the Alsace region. It is a large town on the Rhine, which separates from Germany.
We visited the center of the city and the Gothic cathedral. Then we went in the picturesque district of Petite France.
Colmar, the "capital of Alsace wine", is located about thirty minutes by train to the south of Strasbourg. Its architectural heritage is beautiful. Strolling the streets of the city is a real pleasure.
Riquewihr, twenty minutes from Colmar northwest, is one of the most beautiful villages in France. The buildings are beautiful and transports you back in time to the sixteenth century!
As the village is in the heart of a vineyard, one can find many wine producers. Tastings offers are many and will delight wine lovers. My wife and I were able to taste an excellent Riesling Grand Cru Schoenenbourg and a very good Pinot gris.
Alsatian cuisine is rich and delicious. Among its various specialties, we could eat a tarte flambée and sauerkraut.

Strasbourg est la capitale de la région l'Alsace. C'est une grande ville située au bord du Rhin qui la sépare de l'Allemagne.

This beautiful poem is very useful to study the passé composé (French compound past tense) and also the use of the preposition "sans" (without).
English translation:
Breakfast
He poured the coffee
